Default hello from parkersburg

I have an '03 wide glide with screamin eagle pipes that were on it when i bought it. I am not satisfied with the sound of them, they are just not loud enough. Is it possible without affecting the engine, to remove the baffles to get a better sound and is it much of a job? Or would I be better off to purchase a different set of pipes and if so, any recommendations from anyone?

Welcome from INDY........

The baffles are farly easy to pull out, there is a screw at the rear bottom of each one, take it out. Then inside the pipe you'll see the baffle with little space inbetween the pipe and baffle. Use some WD40, needles nose pliers, turn,pull........get them out. It will take a few but, just gotta keep at it.

I do not think you'll be totally happy with the sound, and you'll have changes with back firing and things, will have to adjust the idle at least. I would go with different pipes, I have Python 3's and no they are not slip ons...sound great. V&H has some nice sounding pipes.....Samson has great pipes at more reasonable prices.....With the new pipes you shouldn't have to do much in the way of adjustments, carb has already been jetted and all with the SE's..
