sleepless in the poconos
Hello fellow HD lovers. I'm not an owner just yet ... if all goes well, I'll be picking up my new ride this Friday afternoon. Ever since my son-in-law bought his Night Train a couple of months back, I've had the fever. Besides trying to figure out how to buy me a Harley in a financially friendly manner ... I've been torn between models. I love them all. The short story is ... I've selected an Ultra Classic Electra Glide. After making that decision I was able to get a full nights sleep ... but only one! I find myself waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning to browse this website or the HD website and sometimes just sit and stare at the picture on my desktop and daydream. Is this normal? Is the anticipation of owning a Harley Davidson that powerful ... or is it just me? My desire to ride is unbelievable. Friday cannot get here quick enough!
I'm truly looking forward to joining the HD culture. I've already met some wonderful people just by taking an interest in what they're riding. Your passion is awesome. This website is really cool as well. Your posts are great. Your advice is always sound. Your commentary is quite entertaining. I hope to be a contributor in some fashion in the near future.
Okay, that's my self-introduction to your group. Thanks for the opportunity to post.

BigBob,
Unfortunately you have a disease for which there is no cure, only treatment. The treatment must have frequent and copious amounts of riding your HD and socializing with other afflicted folks. The good news is that you must have frequent and copious amounts of riding your HD and socializing with other afflicted folks…..
Welcome aboard!! The only feeling worse than waiting for your HD is when you have to sell your only HD and then wait years for another one…. [:@] That is really tough!! Thank goodness for friends and Harley rental programs….

Welcome to the forum! I'll bet you have plenty of great roads for cruising in the pocanos. (Also a big race there on the 24th) Good luck, and if you can't get to sleep, try counting yamahas

Howdy Bigbob, welcome to Harley Country. Sleepless nights, staring at the pic, looking at this forum or the HD website, you seem to be the only person that I have heard of that is having those problems. hehehe Now you know how the rest of us have felt or are still feeling. Sounds to me like you will fit right in. Enjoy the ride.

Welcome to the forums from the Arizona Highlands. Yes, your actions are normal. Some people have been know to wake at 3:00 in the morning and wander out to the garage in their jammies to gaze upon the newly aquired scoot. So be fore warned that this is completely normal also.
