Default New From Italy

I my name's Alan, and I'm stationed in Naples Italy and hopefully soon to be rider as long as I pass the Navy's Basic Rider Course.

Not a lot to say about me. I'm 23 and have limited experience on motorcycles and have never ridden anything over 300cc, and that was before I joined the Navy.

Any suggestions you guys and gals would have as far as a good beginners bike and gear would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Alan

Hi Alan and welcome to the forum.I see you're very young as a person and as a rider so be very careful when riding around Naples. It takes a lot to get used to- and survive- the way Neapolitans/Romans,and Italians, in general drive, but once you've mastered the art of driving here you can drive anywhere. If you happen to be in Rome PM me and I'll be glad to show you around.Beer -O'Doul's- is on me!As for a good beginner's bike I wouldn't go for something too big I'm riding an Ultra and sometimes I have problems in narrow roads but other than that you shouldn't have problems Autostradas (Highways) and State roads are excellent.

Welcome to the forum. I have been lucky enough over the years to go to Italy many times over the years. Beautiful country, but I have never ridden there. That is a dream I have yet to complete.
