Default So until this month I had never been on any motorcycle..

And then I decided... I need a bike.

I am 29, never have been on any motorcycle in my life, I went out and bought a 2011 FLHR Road King on May 4th.

People say I'm crazy for learning to ride on a 18,000 bike, but whatever!

Being new to bikes I'll probably be around a lot.

Hey, get what you want, learn to ride it, take a MSF course and get out there and have fun.

Just don't ride it like your *** is on fire, take a rider safety course. Go buy a cheap dirt bike and do all your crashing on that in a field. And by crashing I mean learn how to react on loose dirt and gravel, because they are not your friend on a street bike. And have fun...

After taking the MSF(abate) I started with the King but took it slow and had no problems. Welcome to the Forum from Indy!

Welcome to the forum. A Road King is a great bike. Take it easy after the MSF course. Remember that you will have the basics after that course, but will still have much to learn.
