Welcome from Illinois. Yes there was a limited number of them made. I do think she is asking more than what it is worth however,

+1 on that. The original bike (Below) before the owner made the modifications was purchased for $11K. I exchanged the complete front end so he could use it safely on the streets of Fort Lauderdale. He still has all of the original parts to bring it back to stock which were all in the same good condition as shown. Not original condition but 99% mostly original but completely re-chromed. That bike will cost you with a rebuilt motor & trans and updated to run in today's world with all gaskets and parts well into +$10K to make it right. You can buy a bike for $23 without spending one minute of your time and aggravation already done. Of course it is your money and I am not telling you what to do.

for $13k plus the cost to rebuild, update, and replace everything that old bike will need--you can buy a new bagger. and you will get all the modern amenities...upgraded frame, belt drive, cruise, air shocks, e.f.i., tbw, 6 speed trans., 2 year unlimited mile warranty, bigger & better powerplant, and the list goes on...but hey jay leno has one?

Seems like when Jay's name was brought in the talk the bike was worth more?

I searched some 63's and the price is all over the place...

IMO, Its worth what ever U willing to pay..

Thanks for the suggestions and answers guys.I have been on a lot of biker forums.Everybody is very cool.I spent hours on the internet.Trying to find out anything that would lead me to believe this was what the owner says is true.
When I saw this bike I fell in love. This was my dream bike.Unfortunatly I agree with most of you.The owner is way out of line with the price.Especially in this economy and the condition of the bike. After all it is not everyday you come across a 63 duoglide.Guaranteed will not happen again. Thanks again,I will post the outcome.

Default 63 duoglide

Took it to a harley dealer to get appraised. They couldn't believe the condition. They were amazed to see a bone stock 63 duoglide.Compression as tight engine was tight. In there opinion,it didn't need much to get it running again. The owner of the harley shop offered $13,000 cash on the spot.I bought it based upon the appraisel. It needs a lot.I don't have a key, title and its not running.I gotta have my head examined!

I dig it ... I'd like to have one, too ....

How'd they check compression if it isn't running ...?

Good luck with it and let me know if you want to 'turn' it ....

Welcome to the forum ....
