Update - First of all THANK YOU ALL for the warm welcome.
After riding for 2 weeks now both solo and with the Mrs. I CAN'T believe that I've remembered a lot of what I already knew. It is like riding a bycle but like Dan Conner said get into a trainer course to get the refresher. As many of you already do, I have a more sense of awareness when I drive my car just from the experience of riding my bike. I tend to be more vigilant and more aware of my surroundings it's pretty uncanny to think what people sometimes take for granted as a driver in a car. I find myself not only using the blinker more but actuall looking around to the left through the window, even bumped my forehead a few times on the closed window.
Well, long story short, the Mrs. and I are BOTH signed up for the beginner's course.
She loves riding with me so much that she wants to experience the thrill on her own. She too has let me know it's EXTREMELY exciting to see things from a passenger (scared from never riding and now fun in a manner that she's never known).
Ride on.

Welcome to the forum, Master Sergeant. We are glad to hear you are both taking the rider safety courses as they always do help. We have both taken the beginner and advanced courses over the years and never regret the new skills we have aquired and bad habits removed. It is great fun to have my darling riding her own bike, too and we get out and travel as much as possible. Cant wait for retirement! Our daughter, a USAF veteran just took her classes and now has bought a 1200 Sportster, so we are making this a family affair. Now if I can just get that son off his Ninja! Thanks for your service!!
