Cool Helmet!... nothing wrong with safety. I've been riding Harleys for 43 years and I do like riding with a half helmet in the summer... but I use a full helmet in cooler months.

You will love the RK Classic... really nice bike.

Thanks for all the "welcomes"! I have to say this is nicest forum I've joined. I posted my second thead in the BS forum asking for Bathroom reading recommendations and catalogs I should look into, but I think it was deleted for some reason. I'm a car guy and I'm looking for the motorcycle equivalent of Summit.

The only thing on my bike that doesn't suit my style are the gold "Live to ride, ride to live" accessories. I just don't think they fit the bike. So I'll be looking to replace those shortly. I guess the HD bug has already bit me.

My helmet came in today. Damn I'm ready for Friday to get here!

Man, now I am getting excited!! LOL. As to bathroom reading, I would pick up a copy of a magazine like American Iron, and then peruse all the ads..you will quickly realize that there are tons of after-market vendors out there, and most have websites that I like to visit. You may want to talk to your dealer and see if they can help you locate an HD Accessory catalogue, which would keep you busy for hours on the throne...one thing nice about the RK Classic is that not a lot has changed over the years. There are on-line dealers like Surdyke that sell 15-20% off on HD accessories. I don't have a local HD dealer, so I don't feel guilty about ordering from them.
There are also vendors that support and post regularly on this forum, and it is nice to throw some $ their way..which I have done.
Have fun with it...

HA HA I know the feeling. I'm stuck in Iraq and have purchased a brand new Harley. I can't wait to get home to it. We do a lot of magazine reading here in the desert and I would suggest a magazine that tends to cover a lot of roadking articles. Three that come to mind are :

Hot Bike Baggers
American Iron Motorcycle Bagger
American Bagger

These three seem to focus on the touring family while the standards like American Iron seem to focus on Dynas and Softails.
