Hi guys. I am brand new here and to riding. My wife grew up around Harleys and I have wanted one for as long as I can remember. I finally took the class and I am ready to look into buying a bike. I have been to several dealerships and looked at many bikes. I have it narrowed down to 2. Either the Heritage Softail or a Road King. What are the pros and cons of each? Is one better than the other? I would be using it to ride 2up over longer distances for weekend getaways. Thanks in advance guys!

Welcome from Texas

I suggest that you take two weekends and rent one model each weekend and make up your own mind.

I to was in the market and was trying to chose between the same two bikes and ended up with the King.

But only you can chose what you want. It's alot of money to spend and a little money spent renting a couple of bikes may keep you from making an expensive mistake.

either are great bikes.......2 up with your girl on the back...the road king will likely handle it better/more comfortable.......if you're going to overnight it.....I'd say a tour pack is in your future as well........

Pansacola is a great place to be. I was stationed their back when the Coast Guard Base was out on Fort Pickens.

Howdy and welcome from The Republic! Rent one of each, ride them, and see which you like best.

I've not ridden either bike for any length of time... have friends with both and each prefers his choice...
