Welcome from Northern MI! Get the bike that fits you and feels right. Take as many for test rides as you can. Think about how you'll be using the bike. Around town, commuting, longer trips etc. Sporties can beat you up pretty quickly on longer rides but sure are fun in the twisties.... Good luck and enjoy the journey!

 

Thanks again for the greetings. I guess I'm thinking of Sporties because of the price and because a lot of use would be commuting, and my commute is only 3.5 miles each way, basically across town (I'm in a suburb of Minneapolis) so a Sportster would be great for that. Some other riding would be around town, and some weekend riding. I'd like to do one longer trip a year too, as I said above, my dad does one, and I wouldn't mind going with. And for that, the big bikes would be better.

 

Welcome from PA. I'd look to get the biggest bang for the buck.

 

Welcome to the forum. You should test ride a few to see what you like, then buy. Any area big change from your Yamaha. Good luck.
