I take it you are running the air seat..I have 2 cop bikes and it can be done but is expensive it consist of finding the Mustang bracket and you still end up ditching the air bladder ..In the end I bought the Mustang solo /backrest and it is a very nice setup..

Welcome from Central IL!

Are you going to be switching to a 2 up seat, or keeping the solo?

Howdy and welcome from The Republic! As a number of folks have said, you'll probably have to replace the seat. Harley, Mustang, and other offer some pretty good seats with backrests.

Welcome aboard from Biloxi Mississippi! I have a 2008 police model as well, though it it looking less like one every day...

I am not positive, but you may be able to add the HD and / or Mustang solo driver's backrest that mounts to the rear fender, but then you would not be able to add a passenger pillion... again, I am not certain... you can always replace the OEM police seat with a Mustang Solo equivalent, that has the driver's backrest built in... http://www.mustangseats.com/Product.aspx?ID=1501 expensive, but no doubt a high quality / comfortable seat.

There are several more police model owners here... I suggest you ask your question in the Touring Bikes section, as it will get more answers there... this is mainly just any introduction section.

Also, join up at www.retiredpolicebikes.com - this site is solely dedicated to police model ownership... plenty of knowledgeable and helpful members there as well...

Ride safe and enjoy the bike!
