oil leak, oil overfilled ?

oil leak, oil overfilled ?
Hi, I'm Jerry, I have a 1991 xlh1200 that has just come up with an oil leak on the right side, seems it may be coming from the drive. However when I checked the oil it is waaaaay overfilled, to the top, and I know it hasn't been that way, nor have I overfilled it. Anyone have any ideas what this could be ? I;m thinking maybe blew a seal somewhere and that the trans oil and motor oil are combined. Is that possible? Really appreciate somebodies help. Thanks Jerry

If it is coming out of the air cleaner that will be the source of your problem. Welcome from So-Cal.
