At the UPPER tip of Door County, WI a ferry goes to Washington Island. I rode up from Chicago, to Green Bay, WI followed the lake up to Door County rode Door County via rt 42/returned via rt 57(I preferred this a lot more than rt 42-too touristy a lot of stops on rt 42)Door County, WI spent the night/next day on the island, then shot up towards the upper peninsula MI following the lake shore from St Ignace(north side of bridge) over the 5mile bridge to Mackinaw City(south side of bridge) then followed the lake shore back into Chicago... Nice ride... the lake is beautiful... A picture of the ride over on a ferry... I'm out your way quite a bit... generally a little further west on a few of the main arteries... Rt 52, Rt6, various roads/routes everywhere/anywhere north & south of same...

I was down that way a few times last year, I like to head to MO early spring/late fall as it is warmer weather... Late spring/early summer I'm heading down to the Lake of the Ozarks, actually did an undocumented Iron Butt(learned about it after I did it) from Chicago to Ozark, MO north of Branson... I put 1012 miles on the bike in a long day... I headed south and just rode, rode, rode, until I realized I had to return that evening... Since learning of the Iron Butt, I will be riding from Chicago, IL->Dubuque, IA-> Kansas City, MO->St Louis, MO->Chicago... to have it documented... sometime soon... weather should get better though it is hit/miss with rain...

KRJOSEPH-I'm heading to Deals Gap 5/10/10 will spend a week in the area... while the Dragon's tail & extensions will be cool, I'm looking forward to the Cherohala Skyway, Moonshiner28, Blue Ridge Parkway... Can't wait...

Chance-Great looking bike, I really like that color scheme... I'm not much for the red two tone with the other colors... I hope you enjoy the 103CI motor...
