Default Hello everyone from Illinois

Hey everyone, I will be taking the Harley Riders Edge class this Thursday as a beginner of course. Next month I will be getting a Iron 883 as my first bike.

A few questions.

1. ) How is the 883 with riding a passenger ? Of course I will get more experience before riding with someone, but I keep hearing you want to get the 1200, but the expenses are not their. Is it going to be that bad ?

2. ) Any recommendations of where to purchase Cycle Shack Slip Ons ?

Thanks everyone, I cant wait to start this riding adventure !!

Welcome to the forums, most people outgrow the 883 quickley but go with what you can afford and ride it.

An Iron 883 will get you on the road & carry a passenger nicely if you have a good seat. I've taken a couple of 1,000+ mile trips on one & you'll know you went somewhere when you get off. They have more vibration than the newer bikes. Check w/ NSCoyote, he is planning to run an iron Sportster from Nova Scotia to Laconia this summer.
And explore the Sportster section of this forum.
Oh, by the way: Welcome from the Adirondacks!
