this place is running deals on left over 09 Sportsters. I'm not sure where your located but I've bought 5 bikes from them over the years. great people to deal with. sell at msrp, free freight and set up. offer is $1,200 in store credit on a 09 sporty.

whatever you buy, good luck, ride safe and sober.

Spend some time trying out each one before you buy.. Once you think you have narrowed it down to one or two, try renting for a day... Good luck and welcome to the forums !

Good luck renting without having rode a street bike before. most places want you to have an existing street bike endorsement and 1 year riding experience.

my advise is go for a used bike say about 3 yrs old. there will be lots to choose from.
also if you feel you need to work your way up than go for it. a 1200 sportster will give you just the right balnce of power and weight. ihave a 05 1200R and fine it to
be very nimble also not to bad on say a 300 to 400 mile ride.

I would go with the bigger bike. Most people will tell you to start off with a Sportster - the Nightster is a great bike - but unless you only plan to ride around town, you'll be ready for a Big Twin before the end of your first year. And trust me, coming from a Harley dealership background, you will never get back what you put into the Sportster!

If you take your time, and try out the different Big Twins, you might find one even bigger than the Super Glide that you would like. A lot of the ladies I know went with a Deluxe - even several that are under 5'4" !!! they put a little extra $$$ into having 'em lowered, but in the long run, its definitely worth it (instead of trying to trade in a Sportster, lose money, AND get a bigger bike) ~ and used bikes are great too!

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
