I can say from experience that you will like riding a whole lot more if your totally comfortable on your ride so make sure you try 'em out see how comfortable you feel .

Wife is 5'4". Spent time on a little bike getting used to riding and learning the basics - now she can ride anything on the road.

Don't let the listed weights fool you - get on the bike and move it around and see where the bike carries the weight - how it feels under you. The Sportster is lighter, but it carries a lot of weight up high, whereas a Soft tail deluxe has a very low center of gravity. (for examples)..

ST deluxe is super low and super classy... Worth the step IMO.

When the bike is on the stand, to upright it, try turning the wheel fully opposite lock (away from the lean on the stand) before you swing the bike up and I'll bet you that it feels a lot lighter to you than it would doing it the "normal" way.

With my wife I told her to buy what she wanted and we'd work her into it a little at a time. She did fine - her current bike weighs nearly 800 pounds and she manages it like a pro. She didn't touch a motorcycle at all until age 43 and has knocked out about 15,000 miles over the last three seasons...

Good luck and welcome - I'm a newb myself - first post here.
