Whining noise
I have a 1993 Dyna Lowrider with 31000 miles. It is making a high pitch"whining" sound when I rev the engine. The sounddecreases and increases with the RPM's. The dealer says it could bea cam bearing and wants 3 hours labor to diagnose.Should I quit riding it and get it in for service? Can this cause major damage?Any suggestions? Thanks!

Are you using a high quality oil? I've heard of many bikers putting AMSOIL sythetics in there bikes and noises disappear. Let me know, I'm a dealer.
Or it could be something serious...

RE: Whining noise
I am also having the same problem with my 96' Heritage. Everyone that I have talked to has told me that it is the cam shaft bearing. I am currently in the process of replacing it myself. I have heard that this is a very common problem with the evo's around 25,000 miles or so. If I were you I would also check the tension on your primary I have heard this may cuase a whining noise as well. Good luck.....

This is a common problem of a whining coming from your bike. Although they are replacing a lot of cam bearings like mentioned above.
