Default Newbie from Ireland

Hi all.

Well, after a long wait, endless books, magazines and internet searches I have finally delivered my 50th birthday present to myself a couple of months early.

Just got my first Harley, a 2000 Electra Glide Ultra Classic. Rode it home to Tipperary from North Wales over the weekend. What a fab trip. Bike is gorgeous on a long run, cruise control on a motorbike??? Great idea. Huge luggage, loads of torque, forward pegs, fun fun fun.

Only problem is I am 6ft 3 tall and I find the seat a tad too low for me and too far forward. I am not sure if it is even the standard seat as it looks like a reach seat which would be lower than stock.

Looking to make the following changes if these are possible:
Headlight is rubbish as reflector is toast, so would like to fit a HID conversion kit if that were possible. Did this on my car and it made a huge difference. Anyone got wind of a good complete kit, lamp unit, HID bulb and ballast?

Anyone know of a good seat to suit my height?

Can the tour pak be moved rearwards?

I'll read through the forum here to see if my other questions have been asked before as I am sure they have. Got the Clymer manual with the bike as I would like to do most of the service and upgrade work myself.

Great forum and I used it a lot to try to find what would suit me best. Thanks to everyone for their posts and information.

Dave

Welcome from PA, USA. Yours is one of the first countries I will visit once I make it across the pond. Good Luck with the new bike and Happy Birthday.
