Im new to the forums. Ive had several bikes and have been riding for 20 yrs. I currently own a 99 heritage I bought in 01. I work on my own stuff. I live in north Ga and have made some pretty good road trips. Made a ride to Ontario Canada and Niagara Falls in 07. Trying to arrange a ride to the grand canyon in 2010. Ive been having an issue with my clutch. At times its hard to get in neutral. when I first started working on it, it was always hard to get in neutral. Ive adjusted the clutch by the service manual, adjusted the primary chain to 5/8 slack as the service manual states, made sure the primary and tranny has the correct amount of oil in it. I even changed the oil in the primary and tranny from 20w50 amsoil synthetic to bel ray gearsaver. Now the thing works flawlessly unitll it gets up to normal operating temp, then it gets hard to get in neutral again. The clutch works great except for the neutral thing. Is this something I'm going to have to live with untill I replace the clutch? Thanks, LS

What weight BR did U put in the Primary.??? and is it the Gear lube???

If so I would drain it and use something else made for the clutches.. I use Bel-ray in the tranny (85-145)GL, but still use Formula+in the primary, there are a lot of others...look up the primary area in the Tech section in here. lots of help there..

Welcome and congrats, from Indy

Ok I talked to a service tech at a local stealership and he recommended 80w bel ray gear saver trans lube in the primary and the tranny. Its working the best it has in a long time, just after you ride it 15-20 miles it goes back to its old ways. Perfect when cold. I'll add some pics
