Hello all,
I am new in all ways here. A friend took me for a ride last Saturday and I fell in love. He has a 2008 Touring bike which rode like a Cadillac. Wow!
I don't own a Harley but I'd sure like to buy one soon.
My questions is this: as a newbie, what items do I really need to have to ride? He furnished a helmet, I bought some good Harley boots and that's it so far.
Any help would be appreciated

First Gear, River Road , Joe Rocket are all good quality stuff. look for jackets with zip out liners, as they can be used for longer periods of time.
Avoid "fashion statements" and get the best quality gear, the first time..... it's much cheaper to do it right, than to keep buying lesser equipment
For winter use.... Heated gear is the way to go... (boy if I only had the money I've wasted trying to "save" by not buying heated gear http://heatedclothingoutlet.com/index.shtml
Gloves alone will make a cold day's ride wonderful

male97504 agrees.
A friend loaned me his bike when I was working in Grants Pass Oregon and it changed me because I never had so much fun on a road. I prefer no helmet.

What kind of eye protection do you think is the best? I have been looking at HD sunglasses/googles online. Do any of you have the transistion lens?
Thanks.
Thanks.
