"Metric" is either diplomatic code or a defensive way of saying your bike is not a Harley - I haven't figured out which but prefer the second alternative if I think about it, which I don't.

Metric = using metric bolts and nuts. Mostly Jap bikes. Victory motorcycle falls into this category.
SAE = the best bikes. IMHO. Harley, BigDog, etc... 99% American

I could be wrong but USA AND British made bikes are not metrics. They Do, however, use metric parts. But "metric" refers to non-USA/British-made bikes. BTW, welcome!

I have never explained why I chose the bike I have (Harley) but have had many people explain to me about their non-Harley. Go figger.
