Default New member needs a new bike...

Hey guys, (ladies too) I'm new to the site, and this is my first time posting.

I've been on here reading a few times, but I got a serious decision to make in the next couple of weeks, and I need some serious opinions.

I put money down on an 09 Fat Bob back in October, and it's due to arrive at the dealership in mid March. The problem I'm running into is the 09 Street Glide. I really like that bike too. Money really isn't the issue, as I've been saving for a while. I just want to make the decision that's right for me.

On one hand, I love how the Fat Bob rides, and it just looks mean. On the other hand, I love the idea of customizing my ride to make it my own, and the Street Glide seems like such a great base to start creating on. Not to mention the Street Glides look pretty awesome too.

I've been staring at pictures, sitting on bikes at the dealership, and asking all of my friends. My wife doesn't care, she's just tired of hearing me talk about it. My friends all say to get the Fat Bob, because I'm too young for a bagger, but none of them ride. They're all just wanna be's.

Anyway, can I get some opinions from people that had to come to this bridge and cross it too???

I'm 31, which I think is plenty old to ride whatever. Well, not a goldwing.

I've been riding on and off since I was about 19. I've had a couple a cheap street bikes, and I had a sportster when I graduated college about 8 years ago.

Street Glide, can't go wrong with it. Don't matter how old you are, Street Glides are just cool no matter.

Only you can make the right choice, both are great rides, although, I'm partial to the baggers
I tested a fat bob out at a local dealer last summer, it rides really great and feels very nimble, but I felt really scrunched up on the bike, like the bike felt really small for me and I'm not that big (200lbs & 6' tall). As fun as the ride was, I I found myself missing my Road King after about 30 min.
and btw... welcome from Toronto

Welcome to the Forum.

I think you already made up your mind. Get the street glide. Or else you will be trading in the fat bob in a few months for the street glide.
