Get the Harley!!! I wasted a couple of years on a metric cruiser thinking I had to learn to handle that before I got a Harley. It was wasted time. These bikes handle so well.

 

Get what ever size you want. Your taking the safety class so you will know how to control it. Its your hand on the grips and your feet on the pegs, you make it go and stop. Make sence?

 

I hadn't been on a bike in 14 year a 700 Virago and bought a heritage last year. Was a little apprhensive for first couple of stops and then knew I had made the right choice. Just take time to get to know the bike and you will be fine.
