Hey I just got my new 08 HD nightster...new rider....I know some of you think it's a girly bike, but it's my first and it has a kool paint job. I will post pic's later. \\; I am 6'-1" 250+.. the bike bottoms out, can I adjust the shocks or do I need to replace them?
 \\;
My wife wants to ride so I need to get a replacement seat, so she will fit, she only is 80# so will add alittle more weight.
 \\;
Great site.

Welcome from Bristol, England.

You can adjust the preload on your rear shocks (you should be able to get the tool from your dealer) and I would recommend trying this first before looking at changing the shocks. There are 5 preload settings to choose from. You're about the same weight as my wife and I combined (we total 266lbs) and I've found the 3rd position to be right for us, but of course riding two up means some of the weight is further back on the bike, so try experimenting.
