Salutations from the land of fruits and nuts! (Los Angeles)
I happen to be neither, well, maybe a just a nut. I've been lurking here in the shadows and enjoying everyone's posts. I figured it's time to say hello and hopefully I can contribute some wisdom I've gotten through the years. I've been riding since 18, and I'm 42 now. Hold on a sec...I gotta get the calculator out...(whoops that's the cell phone)- okay, been riding for 24 years. Recently, I dedicated my life to the Lord Jesus Christ and as a result, decided to leave an "outlaw" club that I've enjoyed many years of riding with. I'm not blaming that particular club (who I won't mention), but just a certain lifestyle. I've never quite understood what complete freedom was all about until now. Anyway, I'm not here to be a preacher, so enough of that. Feel free to PM me if you want to know more.
Recently, I was a dealer and walked in the showroom and my eyes saw the most beautiful black Dyna Low Rider in the world. It was an '08 (stock). I don't really know why, just fell in love with it. That day, I traded in my Road King and have never regretted it at all. The guy in finance said, "Ya know, most people trade up...not down". That kinda bothered me. I've always believed a bike should fit your riding style, and not just by looks. Although, personality of bikes has a lot to do with it too. That's only my opinion. If I sold motorcycles for a living, my first question would be, "How do you want to ride...canyons, highways, local, distance?" Well, you know.
So, I'm looking forward to meeting some of you guys in my area, maybe go on a few rides too if ya want. I'm gonna go check out the Dyna section now and post some questions and maybe a few answers! Thanks so much for an opportunity to join this forum. I really like the people on this board and there's a wealth of good info and ideas here! Take good care all and God Bless your ride!
