Going from metric to Harley-Davidson - Finally!
I sold my last metric bike this week, a Star or is it Yamaha, Stratoliner. Picking up my 08 Ultra Classic on Friday the RD of May. This will be my first Harley-Davidson and I hope I enjoy it. I had no issues at all with the Streamliner, really liked the 113 cubic inch performance.
I've been hearing so many negative remarks on Harley-Davidson forums that I wondering if this time next year I'll wish I still had the metric bike back and not my H-D. My wife said I can not sell it next year so I am going to be stuck with it.
My Streamliner is headed to Poland so I won't even have a chance to see it riding around the area. Guess that is just as well. I really want this Harley purchase to work out. I've had friends who had good luck with their H-D's so maybeitisn'tthe majority whoare having issues.
I'll soon find out myself firsthand in a little over twelve hours. Not sure how well I'll sleep tonight.
Anyway, HI from Hog dreamer!

Welcome from the High Desert of So. Cal. Not sure what you mean about negative comments, especially from HD forums. I currently own 3 Harleys and all have been relatively trouble free. Just relax and enjoy the ride.

Congratulations!
I bumped into a guy who owns a few metrics and a few Harleys. He claims there's nothing like a Harley, but he also enjoys metrics. That's always good.
Be sure to post feedback once you get your ride!

Welcome from Raleigh NC...
Don't worry about "negative" comments... all bikes have their supporters, as well as detractors. Whether you are happy with your HD, will depend on your experience.
Good luck, and ride safe
