New owner with a question

RE: New owner with a question
Congrats on a GREAT purchase. I used to have a 1990 FXR and you'll love yours.
Like you, I wanted a crash bar but unfortunately they bolted into the same spot as my forward controls--and there was no way I was giving those up. It looks like you have basic highway pegs mounted there, so it should be a quick job to remove the pegs, bolt the bars to the hole under the neck and on each lower leg, then get some clamps and put the highway pegs on your crash bars. Finding crash bars is easy, even HD makes them.
But before you do--you might want to consider foregoing the crash bar and putting forward controls in that spot. It makes riding your fxr a whole new ballgame.
