Hi, from Belfast, N.Ireland
Hi All
Just saying Hello from Belfast, N.Ireland. (I noticed a couple of 'Irish' posts, one guy no more than 15 miles from me)
I started on a 50cc bike in 1972, thanks to my Dad, and Ihave mybike to thank for gettin' me out, and keepin' me out,of all the 'political and religious' crap we have had here in Belfast for the past 30 odd years.
Anyway myHDs at the minuteare:
1992 HD 1340 Electra-Glide with Voyager (Deluxe) Bolt-On Trike Kit (My winter runaround)
1999 HD 883 Sportster with Voyager Bolt-On Trike Kit (mint condition)
2000 HD 1,550 Ultra-Glide with Home-Built Bolt-On Trike Kit (mint condition)
1976 HD 1,000 IronHead SportsterLowRider (probably to be finished as a Trike)
You may have noticed that I'm into trikes. Got my firsttrike in 1983 from my mate Semp from Oldham, who was into Harley's and Trikes. I sold him an Electra-Glide and he built me a VW LowRider Trike. We kinda hit it off and were mates from them on. Recently, when he returned from living inThailand, and I retired, we had got into making complete trikes, and trike kits together.
But, just a week before Xmas he dropped dead from a heart attack, while working on a Harley in the garage. Shocked, doesn't begin to describe how I felt. He was only 53, 2 years older than me, and his new wife was pregnant. She gave birth to his daughter last Friday. It kind of makes you re-evaluate everything around you. Plan for tomorrow, but make sure you live it up today as well!
Anyway, things are cool here with me. Besides the Harley's I have a couple of V8 trikes as well -a Boss Hoss 502 V8 Trike, and a Homebuilt 5 litre Alloy Engined V8 Trike. I also have some other projects in the 'trike house', and a '63 'Vette, but that's enough storytellin' for now.
I'll check in once a week and see what's happening with you all, and I'm also planning to hit Daytona in October, and March each year to get some of that winter sun! (Been there a few times, and it sure helps to break down the winter blues) Any of you planning to visit 'the old sod' (Ireland) this summer, and need any guidance, help, advice, etc drop me a line.
Take care, and 'keepher between the hedges'.

RE: Hi, from Belfast, N.Ireland
Never made it to Ireland, I'm afraid, although I spent four years stationed in England and made the grand tour through Scotland and Wales. My sister and her husband have been to Ireland more than once (he's of Irish decent) and LOVED the Emerald Isle. I'm sure they'd live there if they had their d'ruthers. Glad you're a part of the forum!
