About to enter the Harley Zone
Hey all,
Started riding last year for the first time in my life at the age of 40. I bought a 2005 BMW F650GS since my friend already had an Enduro and we had these grand plans of taking offroad adventures...which never happened. Instead I did all of my riding on street to and from work (only time I won't ride is when the roads are icy).
So I'm selling the BMW and getting a Nightster. I plan on using it year round regardless of the Northwest rain. So I've got a couple of questions for the veterans:
1. Is it possible to buy a new bike with some accessories at MSRP? I heard it's been a 'buyers' market due to the slow sales for HD and the current economic climate.
2. Will the Screaming Eagle Performance Air Intake fair well in the rain? Read on HD's site says that it includes a water repellent sock.
3. I'm thinking of starting the negotiations with the dealer for a 2008 all black Nightster with forward controls, black VH short shot pipes, and the SE performance air intake at around $10,827 (all parts basically at MSRP). Does this seem realistic to you?
Thanks
-Brian
