Default slip on mufflers

Hi All,

I'm a new forum member and a new HD owner. I have not owned a motorcycle in the last 17 rears, really excited to get back in the saddle again. I'm also new to this Forum stuff. Believe it or not, I have worked for a computer company in Houston Texas for the last 15 years and I have never done the forum thing or made an EBay purchase, call me old school.

I'm looking for technical help regarding exhaust pipes. Will Screaming Eagle baloney cut slip on mufflers for a 06 Dyna fit on a 08 Dyna Super glide? I want something that looks cool, but not too loud. I'm also considering V&H straight shoot mufflers.

Appreciate any feedback

I'm not sure about your fitment issues, but if you're looking for an awesome sound from your Harley, check out the Rush slip-ons. I got the 2" baffle and they have the perfect Harley sound. Not too loud and obnoxious at idle, and they roar when you really juice it. You can find them for $225 to $280 depending on where you look.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome from Florida! Dittoalso on the Rush mufflers. I just put a pair on my 2008 Heritage, with 1.75" baffles, and they are nice.

Hi All,

Wow, people actually respond!!! Thanks for the welcome notesand feedback, I greatly appreciate it!!

I was checking out used bikes at my local shop Saturday morning. Just looking at 06-08 Dyna models, I'm guessing the 06 parts fit a 08, but the smog requirements or certifications mayhavechanged.I decided to part with some cash and I ordered a set of V&H straight shot mufflers. If they are too loud, I will try their "quite" baffles. If these are still too loud, I will beg someone to trade me a set of extra loud stock looking mufflers (baffles cut out with a plasma cutter) and a set of V&H mufflers for a set of stock 08 Dyna mufflers.

Yes, I'm over 40 and probably too old. fyi- I really enjoyed the Van Halen show at the Toyota Center in Houston, it was like 1979 all over again!!!!
