Hi,
Great forum and wealth of information. I've been on crotchrockets all my life except for a few v65 magnas and some old school two-strokes (rd's, rz's, and wicked h2's) but I have always had my eye on road kings. I especially like the police service models.
Any advice on dealers in south or central florida for a police turn-in would be great. I tried the hd pompano dealer and was suprised when the salesman tried to "hook me up" for $18k on a beat police model. I won't be going there again.

Thanks, I appreciate the input. Most of them are dealer serviced around here and I like the utilitarian look. The main reason though is the big motor and 6-speed. I plan on doing time on the interstate and that is just what the doctor ordered.
I would not recommend purchasing a used police motorcycle. The motor will have a lot more wear and tear on it than the mileage would indicate. The bikes idle for hours at a time, and you can't be sure of the maintenance. Some are maintained with a contract at a dealership, others are done by city garage mechanics that may have little motorcycle experience. It's a crap shoot.
