We bother because it's the nice thing to do...btw, I've never cared about the number of posts. I've got to admit, it's a hell of a way to start out.

Believe it or not it is very important for the new member to get some feedback on usually their first post. If you search the older threads you will find that many are valued members here and continue to add content and maybe it was because they got a warm reception like I did.
