Hi from Oz
G'day to you all from Canberra, Australia.
Just a quick intro:
Used to ride the rice years ago. Got into a lot of trouble with the law and gave it up. Had a few performance cars but they just don't do it for me.
Like 99% of people on the planet I always thought Harleys were cool, and am looking to buy my first early next year.
I'm not sure what model I'll end up with, but I don't think it will be a sportster as I'm 6'6.
Like to know what you other big blokes are riding.
See ya's.

RE: Hi from Oz
Hey Jim,
Your the second Australian I've talked to today on the board. Welcome. The tall guys seem to like the Roadkings. They are bigger than the sporty's or superglides and don't have the fairing like the roadglide, classic or ultra. Sometimes the fairing and windshield seem to make really tall guys feel cramped.
Ride as many as you can before you make a decision. You'll find the one ya want.

G'Day, and welcome!! Glad you found the forum. I've been looking at taking a riding vacation in Fair Oz so I've looked into rentals, seems like the way to go on making a decision. You can take 'em out and thrash 'em around a bit and see how you like the fit. Good luck on the choice, and be sure to post pics when you get them.
Enjoy the ride.
Enjoy the ride.

Hi, Jim. Good to see another Aussie on the forum. I'm a bit shorter than you (I'm 6'4") and I ride a Superglide with forward controls. It's not too bad, but I'm going to get a 2" extension for them, which should make them a lot more comfortable for the longer rides. My next Harley will probably be a Wide Glide, which a lot of taller riders recommend.

Allo Jim, and G'Day to you!!
I am 6'3" and think I fit well on a Road King. Ive also owned an older FLTC which was also comfortable for me. Make sure to take some test rides before you choose.
