new member here, just bought first Harley. 2003 Anniversary, Road Glide. Have not ridden in probably 20 years but figured I better get one before I'm too old to hold it upright. I'm on a fast learning curve here. I was surprised how nervous I was to ride in traffic but I'm getting used to it now. I am also suprised at how aggressive drivers in cars/trucks have gotten towards motorcycles in the last 20 years!! Either that, or I just don't remember..anyway, looks like a great site and I'm glad to have access to it..
see ya, steve

Howdy Steve and welcome to the forum. I was away for a while myself. Have you checked into a MSF course? I attended the course several months ago and had a great time. Learned a lot of great stuff and re-learned things I had forgotten. Ride Safe, Ride Smart and Enjoy !

Welcome!! Glad you found the forum. I'm gonna second cmorris48 here, the MSF courses are great. Good opportunity to relearn the little tricks that slip away while we're outta the saddle. And they have an advanced riders course for when you've been back in for a while!

Anyroad, Enjoy the ride.

A warm welcome from out west in Walker Basin, California.

Congrats on the RK.

I bought my first Harley in May - 05 RK. Had not ridden in many years. 10,000 mile and six months later, I'm lovin' it more every day.

Keep us posted on your road trips.

thanks for all the welcome's and advice on the riders course..Of course riders are different now than they were 20 years ago..This happened to me the other night. It was dark, I was turning left, oncoming traffic was clear, so I thought, about the time I get halfway thru the turn a motorclyle comes into view heading right into me. He was pulling a wheel stand at about 40-50 MPH and since his headlight was aiming at the moon I did not see him. When his front wheel dropped of course I saw him but nothing I could do at that point. Things worked out okay as he slowed down. Howerver, if he would have hit me and there were no witnesses I am sure I would have been givin a ticket for failing to yield and of course he might have been hurt. I have seen some guy's do stuff on motocycles I have never dreamed of. Can't be too careful..I would post a pic of my RG if I knew how?? I did post a pic on my profile.
see ya,
