New Member Shopping for my first Harley
Hi Everyone,
I’ve been riding since I was 12 so I’m no stranger to bikes. Never had my road licence due to my crazy antics on a dirt bike ( figured I’d kill myself on a road bike).
I’m mature now. Have a family, retired from my job and I want a Harley.
I’ve taken a riders safety course.
I thought I’d get a sportster. 883 or 1200. Then I stated liking the Fat Boys and bigger bikes.
I’m torn.
I do have one question for now. I love the sound of aftermarket pipes. I’m curious if the pipes or aftermarket intakes contribute to slowly destroying the engine?

Welcome to the HDFORUM.
I hope you continue to enjoy your ride here, as much as you enjoy your bike.
Only as a suggestion, by me as a USER just like you, create a signature line similar to my one line on my bike information.
The year, model, and all the letters Harley assigned to the bike. It will appear at the bottom of your post.
Doing this will be helpful if you ask a question. All Harleys aren't the same with many changes and variations over the years.
Of course, you can add it to any thread with a question.
You can also add any other details you choose and a favorite picture to the signature lines.
If you like, you can also add another favorite picture for an Avatar you see at the top left of all your posts as a postage stamp.
Doubt exhaust hurts the engine but a tuner is like a rich carburetor and will shorten engine life probably.
