New from SC
Hey all, new here, currently in South Carolina.
I don't know much about harleys or sportsters but my dream bike is an older chromed-out sportster so hoping to pick one up sometime soon. I have my eye on a 2004-2006 sportster atm.
Is there somewhere to learn about these bikes? Service manual maybe? What type of gas, how to maintain the carb, how to set oil level .. anything that I wouldn't normally know etc.
Thanks all. Happy to be here. Been hoping to grab a harley for a while now.
JJ

Welcome JJ, to the HDFORUM.
I hope you continue to enjoy your ride here to when you get it.
Only as a suggestion, by me as a USER, create a signature line similar to my one line on my bike information when you do.
The year, model, and all the letters Harley assigned to the bike. It will appear at the bottom of your post.
Doing this will be helpful if you ask a question. All Harleys aren't the same with many changes and variations over the year.
Of course, you can always add it to any thread with a question.
You can also add any other details you choose and a favorite picture to the signature lines.
If you like, you can also add a favorite picture for an Avatar you see at the top left of all your posts as a postal
PS…Questions would probably get more comments in the proper area using the dropdown menu under Forums in the menu above.
It’s possible if a Community Team member sees your post, they may move it to a better area.
If they do, only as a suggestion by me, make another new thread back here in the welcome area to say hello and if desired introduce yourself.
Repost your questions here as new threads.
Be sure to title then clearly as to your need. Not just Help.
Reading the Owners manual on line free at the Harley.com site is very helpful.

Welcome from Sydney Australia.
As suggested by Jackie Paper there is a wealth of information in the Sportster section located here https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sportster-models-10/
