Default 2011 FXDF Fat Bob - New to Harley!

Hi everyone!

Happy to be here and finally own a Harley. I would say it's a childhood dream bucket list ticked off!

Got it direct from an owner who's relocating to Aussie and I'll think it's a good deal.

Mileage at 11k there abouts when I took over in Jan 2021 and the condition of the bike looks pretty prestine.

Lucky enough that it came with a Jekill n Hyde exhaust. Saving some money on exhaust mod.

Things I've changed so far:
  1. Stock 2011 Dunlop tyres to Metzeler Cruisetec - best change so far! Very grippy and cornering with confidence
  2. Smoke signal lights
  3. Roland Sands Design (RSD) grip to Avon air cushion grip. So comfortable and it's thicker.
Projected changes - on the way
  1. RSD led fuel guage to the Harley Diamond Black led fuel guage
  2. RSD fuel tank cap to Harley Diamond Black fuel cap
  3. RSD two up saddle to Saddlemen step up saddle - gf isn't very pleased with the existing one
  4. Sissy bar from AliExpress
  5. Thundermax auto tuner
I'm happy with the bike so far and I ride once 1 to 2 times a week.

Definitely looking to learn more tips and tricks with you guys here!

I'm from Singapore by the way.

Max

Welcome from Spartan Country, Michigan!
I tell a lot of new comers to the forum to get: Factory Service manual and the Parts manual. Get a three ring binder and record all your maintenance, repairs, accessories, etc. This will be a great reminder of what was done when. And great material to pass along to the new owner should you sell and upgrade. Also know how large your fuel tank is, a rough idea of your range per tank, and record your fuel usage. I have an app called Simply Auto that I record all my fuel used. I use the odometer and use the fuel gage as reference only. I reset the odometer to zero on fill ups, and I know I can safely get 200 miles on a tank on around town riding, and upwards of 230+ on trips.
Good Luck!!

Hello! Yea. I'll fully tested the bike fuel economy. The fuel tip is very important. I even tested out and ran out of gas to a complete stop at 294km. Using this app called Fuel Log, to record the mileage and amount of petrol topped up. Currently at 17.17km/L, hopefully the fuel economy will improve with thundermax.
Been keeping notes as well for all the purchases and servicing. I'm lucky to have the manual as well from the ex owner. Still learning and absorbing. My first bike as well, so plenty to understand.

Thanks for the tips!

M

Welcome from North Beach, FL., USA!

Just in case you have not done this.

Add a Signature Line in your USER set up for your bike year, model, and all the letters that Harley recognizes it with so others see at the bottom of all your post. This enables others to know your exact model if you ever ask a question.

And a Avatar of your favorite shot in the USER set up for the small picture others will see in the top left corner of your post.

Your all set.... Enjoy the ride! ______________
