Hello from Upstate NY
New member here! My riding stable currently consists of a '95 FXDL, a '93 FXSTC and a '14 FLSTC. My older rides are starting to develop "issues", so I went looking for some knowledgeable folks that might be able to advise me. This is where I ended up, and it seems like it might be the right place.

Welcome, from an ex-upstater, and now Sandy Eggoian. Don’t be a stranger.
I’d suggest getting an HD Factory Service Manual. Even if you don’t plan to do your own wrenching, there is a lot of good information in there. Yeah, they seem expensive, but are really only about the cost of 1 hour of dealer labor. Don’t even think 🤔 about cheaping out and getting a knock off or alternate brand manual.
There is a lot of great information in this forum. But, our search function sux. I recommend using Google to use a more robust search. The basic is within Google type:
“whatever you want to search for” site:hdforums.com
There is information on the web on how to do more intelligent searches, but, I’d suggest starting from there.
After you’ve done searches, and want more info, don’t be afraid to ask for help in the appropriate sub-forum. Most people will be happy to help you, even if the question has been asked 12,392 prior times. Some will give you a bunch of 💩 for asking what they think is a stupid question. Just ignore them, they were abused children.
After a while, you may decide to venture into the POD. I’d suggest following it a while before actively participating. You’ll get an understanding of who are just trolls, and you’ll get a sense of the attitude of many, and learn to ignore some of the persistent rabble rousers because they too were abused children, and currently live in their mother’s basement.
And above all, ride safe.

Welcome from Spartan Country, Michigan!
I tell a lot of new comers to the forum to get: Factory Service manual and the Parts manual. Get a three ring binder and record all your maintenance, repairs, accessories, etc. This will be a great reminder of what was done when. And great material to pass along to the new owner should you sell and upgrade. Also know how large your fuel tank is, and record your fuel usage. I have an app called Simply Auto that I record all my fuel used. I use the odometer and use the fuel gage as reference only. I reset the odometer to zero on fill ups, and I know I can safely get 200 miles on a tank on around town riding.
Good Luck!!
