I wanna ride...
Hello everyone, I want to get a Harley. With stating the obvious I will say that I am 16 years old and plan on doing the MSF course in about a week. My personal preference are the Sportster 1200's mainly because thats the first Harley I rode. I would like to purchase a used Roadster, but I don't see that happening because my funds are limited and I really gotta talk my mom into it (yes, yes, I know). But I have found a few for about 4000 dollars, and that doesn't seem to bad. Well, just thought I'd introduce myself, lemme know if I'm on the right track.

I know how you feel. I was 15 when I bought my first Harley for 600 bucks. I had it put together and running by the time I was 16. I gave that old Sportster to my son when he turned 16 last year. Just keep your eye on the ball and focus on saving your money and you will do OK. Oh yeah, don't sweat the Mom thing, I had to get my mom's permission, too. 25 years later, I still take her for a ride every now and then.
If you keep your eyes open, you can find a used Sportster 883 cheaper. It will give you just as good of service as a 1200, and it might help you get in the saddle faster. I have seen them in decent shape for around 2500. Good luck to you, and keep us informed of your journey.
