Thanks for the welcome.

I was asked about the bikes.

The bike on the ground closest to camera was a barn find that I came across about 2 years ago. Really it's a bitsa and made up of parts. It hadn't run for about 15 years when i got it and I cleaned it up, started it, and rode it only to melt a piston after about 600 miles because I'd set the fast mixture a bit lean...well, you live and learn. So I did a full engine rebuild on it and now it goes great. It's really my everydayer and I've probably done about 4000ish miles on it in the last year. I love it.

The one on the stand I just had to buy when I came across it about 3 months ago. I bought it off an old bloke in his 90s who was unwell and has since died. He was issued the bike in WW2 in the Australian army when he was based in Darwin. He rode it during the war and after the war he "aquired" it (never really found out the details of that bit) and had kept it since then. He rebuilt it about 30 years ago and only rode it in 2 Bay to Birdwood Rallies ( a big vintage and veteran car/bike event in Adelaide, Australia). He last rode it 25 years ago (still has the old registration sticker on it) and after that it was a bit much for him to ride but he hung on to his old bike for sentimental reasons.
So, yesterday after giving the bike a good going over I started it for the first time in 25 years. 2 priming kicks and on the next kick it gave me a bit of a kickback (slightly to much advance on the timing), 2 more kicks and she fired up. Ran sweet, sounded great, but the oil pressure light didn't go off so I shut it down after about 1 min. As soon as i work out whats going on there I'm taking it for a ride....and looking forward to it
