203 cam upgrade in 15th anniversary 95cu in fat boy
Hi,
This is my first post. I live in the UK.I own a 2005 15th anniversary fat boy 95 cu in silver with 8500miles on it. When I bought the bike secondhand it had a harley Stage 1 (part 32952-04A) and quiet "Harley" pipes not the stock ones.
I had V & H big shot staggered fitted and a V & H fueler. The bike ran fine. Later last year I had SE203 cams fitted which is the stage 2 upgrade for this bike according to the Harley catalogue. The bike then ran very rich and used lots of fuel. The local harley specialist said there was no fueler map to match the stage one, big shot staggered and SE 203 cams. This I can confirm when looking though all the settings for my version 12 fueler. I have rang Adam Rogers in USA and he implied that I just use setting FP 0061 which is for a stock 15th Anniversary 2005 softail with stock cams and stock ecu.
I can't help feeling that this will not be the best set up, but since inputting figures into fueler the bike does run better and leaner(looking at spark plugs).
Question,
Harley clearly state when 203 cams fitted ecm must be recalibrated but my Harley dealer tells me that the simple downloads they used to have for this are not longer available through Harley. Where to I go from here? It seems the fueler cannot be adjusted on a dyno as nobody knows what the mode settings all mean. I have yet to put the bike onto a dyno to see how it is running. It seems I am going to have to spend more money on a Harley race fueler? Prices in uk equivalent to $800!!!
Sorry to be long winded on a FAQ but this simple tuning upgrade has currently ruined the bike's performance.
Thanks
Richard
