I’m originally from the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina. I’m in the Army and I’ve been stationed in Alaska for the last 5 years.
I recently purchased a motorcycle in my hometown and haven’t even had the chance to sit on it yet. I’m excited to soon return and begin riding and meet the motorcycle community. I have no prior experience in riding street legal motorcycles, but I spent my childhood and teenage years on a dirt bike. (Yes, I am completely aware that it’s different.)
The bike I purchased is a 2014 FXDB with less than 6,000 miles on it for right around $9,500. With my remaining time in the service I plan to occasionally buy and ship parts to my parents house where my bike is being maintained and stored so that when I finally get back to NC, my bike will be ready for me to tear apart and rebuild just the way I want it.
Until then I’ll be watching as many DIY vids as I can and learning everything I can about riding.
