Default Buying an Electra Glide Saturday

New member from WA state here. Saturday I will be looking at my first Harley. I currently own a Yamaha RSTD and a Victory Kingpin. My parents both ride HD’s and I have always wanted one, they just have always been out of my price range. Any advice on the bike I’m contemplating would be appreciated. It’s a 2003 Electra glide standard. It looks to be in great condition but has 66k miles on it. Anything I should look for specifically? We settled on a price of $4,500. But we will see if it goes down on Saturday. Thanks in advance!

Welcome, and nice looking bike. I just picked up an 02 last weekend. Seems that cam chain tensioners and inner cam bearings can be trouble areas in the cam chest. Plenty of YouTube videos to watch so you can see what both hear like (for the most part)

hooefully everything checks out and you leave with a bike and a smile.

dont get too hung up on miles. I would rather have a bike with more miles from someone who kept it maintained and serviced, than a low mile one from a guy who could never even be bothered with a simple oil change.

Get yourself a shop manual, and do the required 60k service this winter and drive the **** out of it come spring.
