Dirt bikes are good for that, but if you must...
Gary Laplante at Dirtventures in Anza can teach you to do the various types of wheelies, on bikes that are designed to do them. How would you like to practice for 8 hours? Just wheelies, for hours.
Power wheelies
Balance wheelies
Wheelies while slowing down
Wheelies in a turn
Wheelies uphill/downhill
You won't be Doug Domokos when you're done, but you'll have a lot better throttle control once the front tire is up. That is what wheelies are all about...throttle control.
Oh yeah, mods for getting the front up. A 1200cc kit to begin with. Maybe relocating the oil pick-up tube too. If you're going to wheelie on the street, be prepared to pay fines if caught.
