My wife an I bought our first bike in 22 years last November. She's been wanting one for a while so I thought "I'd take one for the team" and get one. We purchased a 2002 Softail Standard, putting several hundred miles on it before the weather turned too cold to ride. While it's not the touring bike we'll progress into, we have already planned trips to Claw of the Dragon in May and Niagara Falls in July in addition to several weekend jaunts. I hope to get advice from the members on how to pack out a Standard for longer trips. I've been looking a saddlebags and windshields, but I hate to take away from the natural lines of the bike.
We're getting cabin fever and can't wait to get our for some rides.
