New Harley Guy, Metro Detroit
Hey all, Name here is Tyler, been a harley fan for a while, family is a big harley family, and I came across a deal I couldn't pass up while having that bug to finally buy one. Picked myself up a 2005 FLHTCI Electra-glide classic. 40k on the clock, and some of the paint needs a little bit of TLC, as to be expected for the price and age. Though, she leaks not a drop, fires up strong and runs beautifully. I could NOT be happier.
I had the fortune of spending a summer a few years ago working as an apprentice in a bike shop (Victory, Harley, Indian, etc, mostly standard bikes, few metric) where I had the chance to go from a garage tinkerer, to learning a lot more details and proper maintenance of 2 wheel machines. I'm no mechanic, I don't work on bikes as a trade, I just love being on two wheels and wanted to take the opportunity to expand my knowledge, and maybe help someone else one day along the way.
I believe in helping out your fellow man. I have tools, know how to turn wrenches, and a truck and trailer. I'd be happy to help someone out in a pinch before they get stuck with a wrecker driver who just doesn't know or doesn't care! All I ask is pay it forward....
I have been out of riding for a few years before this bike, previously being a sportbike guy...yeah that was fun when I was young dumb and.. you know the rest. I ride as much as possible, though life limits that sometimes since my job is not cohesive to me riding to work more than once in a while. That may change.
Guess that's it for me, just happy to be riding again, and looking forward to seeing others at meets, swaps, bike nights, rides etc...
