Yep...Another Texan
Just wanted to say hey from NW Houston, and introduce myself seein' how I've benefited for more than a little while from posts on this site.
I've been on Bikes for as long as I can remember, and now I'm on a 2014 FLHTK Ultra Limited. I put in over 16K miles in 2015, much of that 2-up and you still can't wipe the grin off my face after all these years.
My longest round-trip was LA to Calgary on a bowling ball sporty, and my my have things changed since then.
Anyway, I'm almost done with major changes to the Ultra. The "Throne" behind me is pretty well set now with the right arm rests and the Road Zeppelin matched with heavy Progressive 444's. The exhaust is finally on it's way after I finally got all the extended levers and mirror extensions in place. I settled on the V&H Power Duals and Monster Ovals. The biggest benefit I can see other than looks is losing the heat of the converter. It's hot enough in H-Town come Jul-Aug.
As far as service goes, I am fairly good with a wrench and like to do my own and always have. HD makes it tough to do everything these days with all the gadgets and electronics, but I enjoy doing what I can.
I've always been a bit of a solo independent. I'm not anti social, but I just want to ride and drink a good beer over some good eats most times. Group riding with more than a gaggle of us just gives me gas when I'd rather be enjoying my classic rock and taking in the scenery. That said I do financially support a few groups out there who have smarter people than me makin' sure we of the two-wheel persuasion have a say in things.
I guess I'll quit rambling now and save some BS for later

Well, don't know if a welcome from a new guy counts for much, but I'm glad to see another Houstonian on the site. Now living in the Conroe area, but just a short zip into town.
Your Ultra sounds awesome; I'm more of a lightweight on my Fatboy
Anyway, WELCOME!

Welcome from the Western edge of Eastern Texas. Maybe we could meet up at Yankees and drink a cold one.
