Default Newbie without a Bike

Hey everyone... Mike here and I'm totally new to all of this... riding and owning a bike. So new that I don't have a license yet, or a bike.

However, this is something I've always wanted to do and always wanted to do it on a HD. I'll be 59 this year and figure it's time I got off my butt and follow through with this dream. So please be kind. I'll have lots of newbie questions on everything you can think of.

Cheers,

Mike G

Got that right!

Is there a particular forum for asking questions about what bike to purchase? I love the look of the Iron 883, but I'm short (5'6") and wondering if I should be looking at something like a Superlow 1200T.

Welcome to the forum. I'd suggest taking a MSF course and getting your Motorcycle license. Then try to rent or test ride the various models. I advocate renting, as its really hard to get a feel for comfort on a test ride. Renting saved me from buying the wrong bike. As I always liked the Wide Glide...but found it just didn't fit me right after riding it for a few hours during a rental.

I started at 45, last year. Take a basic riders course, get your license, enjoy the freedom!
