New in Albuquerque
Hello all. My name is Patrick, and I am the very proud owner of a new 2016 FLHTCU, put into service just four days ago. I've been riding for over 50 years, and owned a couple of small Harleys back in the early 70's, but mostly have ridden Japanese and a couple of BMWs. My current Japanese bike is a 2014 Yamaha FJR, a bike I dearly love, and aim to keep, unless I go broke!
My girlfriend, however, has spent her life immersed in HD culture, and has put out quite a few hints over the two months I've known her that she'd like to see us riding on a Harley. I love this woman, so I also must love a Harley, and so here I am.
The new bike is still a mystery to me. I'm breaking it in carefully, dodging in and out of good and bad weather days. I've am an all weather rider so a little cold doesn't keep me indoors. As I've spent time riding and inspecting the bike, I'm finding lots to like. It usually takes me about 10k miles to fully comprehend a new bike, and this one will be no different. I ride a lot of miles, and expect to spend most of the coming spring and summer exploring this new motorcycle. I look forward to reading and contributing to the Forum, to learn the important things to know, from other experienced riders.
