Hey everyone,
I'm Mike. I live in Norfolk, VA. I always wanted to own a bike and ride, but about two years ago I was finally able to financially swing buying a bike. I couldn't be any happier.
Ok Ok, it's a Sporty, but it's a pretty nice one. Iron 883 all blacked out and custom pipes, white walls, and a pretty sweet springer style seat. (check the pictures)
I grew up messing with cars and doing construction jobs in various forms, in 08 the housing market went to crap and I enlisted in the Navy. Still there, still doing my thing. But the point is that I miss being able to create something and have something to show for my work. I fell in love with customs and building things that people are going to hate or love but still say they are pretty nice.
My current goal.. build three bikes from the ground up. I have friends that know more than me and will help as needed, but I can swing most things on my own. I joined the forums to help find some of the missing information that I admit I do not know. So back to the bikes, I want to do a vintage Hardtail Bobber, that one is pretty straight forward and done a million times. The other two... well kinda harder. I've been following the guys at www.classifiedmoto.com for some time and love their work. So I want to build a cafe/street bike for the old lady and one of the frankenbikes for myself as well. That's the tricky part. I want to do a single sided swing arm, a cafe or cafe-esque frame, a modern street bike front end, and all powered by a Harley Big Twin... hopefully something from the Evo era. So any advice and tips would be awesome!

Yeah I'm about 5 miles from the CBBT. It's a nice ride and if you go half way it's only like a $7 toll. If you make it to the Southside, take a ride out to Monk's. It's a hamburger joint in the Pungo area of Virginia Beach. Bring cash though.
