Hi, my name is Mak2 and I am a Hoosier
Which for most of the rest of the country means I am from Indiana.
My son overextended his budget and bought a Harley a year or so ago. Now he is headed for Japan (USMC) and I have a Harley in my garage I plan on buying from him.
I have been an avid bicyle commuter to downtown indy for many years and mod a bicycle website so I am sure you guys hear this all the time, but here goes again.
I rode motorcycles some in high school. I am now 54 years old and want to learn to ride safely. I really would appreciate any advice possible. I have ridden it exactly one mile (in my neighborhood) and can back it in and out of my garage. I know it is a sportster.

Welcome to the Forums from Central IL, my advice would be to take an MSF Course. You may also be able to take a riders course at your local HD Dealership.
